MEZZOTINT COURSE
DESCRIPTION
Introduction to the direct technique of mezzotint and its history. The course includes the preparation of the plate using the rocker (graining), followed by the creation of a sketch that will be transferred onto the plate. Using a burnisher and scraper, students will then smooth specific areas to create lighter tones. Finally, the plate will be printed using a Bendini intaglio press.
